Requesting Pokemon Trainer!Usagi pls?
I’ve actually drawn on that theme before - I even drew a picture of specifically Usagi with her whole team but I don’t think I ever posted it here. It’s a bit old but I will in a sec!

Actually, although “kage” usually means “shadow”, “tsukikage” 月影 means “moonlight”. So “Moonlight Knight” is actually a perfect translation.
In 2013, I want the Sailor Soldiers to have the same details that set them apart in the first manga arc - Mercury’s lack of sleeves, Mars’s belt brooch/longer gloves, Jupiter/Venus’s waist chains, etc. - but, if the series goes that far, I hope they don’t get their Sailor Star suits. I don’t want them all looking identical. : (
Edit:
Mercury’s lack of sleeves? Do you mean Pluto?
No, in the manga, before getting any power ups, Mercury was sleeveless too.

They all had little details that set them apart - Mercury had no sleeves (plus the goggles and microphone), Mars’s gloves went above the elbow and she had a brooch on the point of her waistbelt, and Jupiter + Venus had belts/chains around their waists. Moon also had her brooch and the dumpling guards + barrettes in her hair. They were streamlined from the original anime, though, likely to make them easier to animate, which is why I hope they’re preserved in 2013, like in PGSM.
what gender do you consider the starlights? there has always been an debate that theyre transgender or you cant identify them as being female. what do you think?
Naoko has stated that they’re women and was pretty upset about the change in the anime, so that’s what I go with, mostly. They’re women 100% of the time in the manga and they’re women a lot of the time in the anime. Out of the three, I’d say there’s the most support for Seiya being trans*, as there are a couple of references made to the idea that they have willingly taken a male form at other times for no reason other than she wanted to. However, I’m hesitant to say that Seiya is trans* because it feels like buying into the anime’s ridiculous and gross “MAKE THEM ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY MALE SO THAT THE USAGI/SEIYA PAIRING IS A HET ONE” which I don’t want to support at all. Like, Seiya’s a woman in the manga who crossdresses for the purpose of disguise. They turn her into a love interest in the anime and suddenly she’s physically male?? No thankyou.
So I refer to them as “she” but I could understand how one would perceive them to be trans*, especially Seiya. I’d say that Seiya is gender fluid and is comfortable in either body where I don’t think Yaten or Taiki were so much.
But, lbr, isn’t Saphir kind of a little in love with his brother? Like beyond something brotherly, maybe not quite bordering into sexual, but definitely more intense than your standard brotherly relationship
I don’t really think so. I mean, I know it’s a fairly popular interpretation but it’s not as though they have a normal family relationship to begin with. They pretty much only had each other when they were kids growing up on a dead planet in the middle of nowhere populated solely by criminals. That’s instantly a stronger and more co-dependent bond than normal siblings. Then suddenly this crazy evil dude pops up and gives him strange powers and now his brother is basically insane and obsessed with this woman to the point where he’s ignoring everything else and playing straight into Wiseman’s trap. I think Saphir can be a bit more obsessed with his brother than normal brothers would be, under those circumstances, without it being because he’s in love with him. He just wants to have his normal, nice, not-messed-up brother back, and for him to remember what their goal was; to get out of the hellhole that was their lives, not imprison ladies.
uh oh should i change the tagging system on my sideblog? i’m watching the series for the first time and making photosets of screencaps (i’m open to suggestions if you think this is wrong and/or spammy) pinksugarheart-attack.tumblr
Oh no, I don’t think so in this case! Screencaps (and screencap photosets) are pretty standard in the tag and are things Sailor Moon fans might actually be interested in seeing, so they definitely belong on the tag, especially if you leave a bit of time between your posts. Actual in-depth observations, opinions, realisations and reflections, etc. that come to you while you are watching/re-watching the series are also interesting to fans and usually some of the best content on the tag. The problem is a combination of:
- Incredibly short and pointless text posts with no content that would interest anyone checking the tag
- Posting the text posts in rapid succession with little to no breaks between them so the tag becomes completely saturated with these posts
- Completely ambiguous content so that even if someone was interested in reading your liveblogging, it’s impossible for them to tell what episode or season you are on most of the time
Basically, “spam that is only relevant to the person posting it” should not be tagged with #Sailor Moon. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t post it - your own blog is for your own content, I’m not trying to police what you put on your blog - I’m just saying you should tag it with something else, like “Sailor Moon liveblogging”, “Sailor Moon rewatch”, etc. Screencaps, observations, etc. are interesting to the wider fanbase so I don’t think you should worry about your tags. :)

I’ve owned one of these. They aren’t as great as they look. It was super inconvenient because you couldn’t block the top drawer. If you had a night stand it had to go on the other side because it would get in the way.
The way I have mine positioned it fits in just perfectly, but the way Usagi set her room/bed up, she had a set of shelves behind the bed acting as a headboard. That’s where she kept all her stuff and seems like a good solution. Plus, if you had something behind the bed acting as a headboard, you could put a nightstand next to that and it wouldn’t block the bed.
Yes, it’s not going to suit everyone’s needs, but I’ve always been attracted to this kind of bed ever since I saw the Myu where Usagi has the dream at the beginning and it’s on one of these beds. Also even if you blocked the top drawer, a bed with even just one drawer underneath could be quite useful.
Given how much was cut from the finale of the first season (enough that they squashed it into two episodes), that might’ve been cut too. :\ Unfortunate, if that’s the case.
Nah, the majority of the stuff they cut was from the first episode/half, showing the deaths in more detail, etc. A lot of the Endymion/Moon scene was cut as well, but they kept that part in. I remember because, as could be expected, the dialogue was really suspect.
All you have to do is TOUCH IT!
girlspines replied to your photo: It begins.
OMG who is going to be the devil? The angel? omfg im getting emotional :’(
There wouldn’t be a devil; rather, there would be the concept of Chaos, which can tempt people to do bad things. However, Chaos exists in everbody as a natural part of life, and it’s not something that will ever go away. So it’s the job of every Serenitist to understand that Chaos exists in them, and that it’s ok, and that they have the strength to overcome it and still make the right decisions and be fundamentally good people, even if they make mistakes or sometimes make the wrong choices.
Or something.
I think there is one already, serenitism.webs.com/
Hey, that’s really interesting! I like the “Ginzuishou Purification Ritual”. A lot of the ideas seem similar to ones I was kind of thinking of. If I did make anything out of it, I’d probably work with this as well.
