The idea is that she starts out with black hair as shown in the manga when she was a human, and the more her soul is consumed, the more of it turns Queen-red.
In order to fight off the wicked Queen Serenity and keep her from ensnaring the Golden Kingdom’s royal family, palace maid Beryl makes a deal with the evil Goddess Metaria to become the fabled Sailor Sun. But every time she uses her power, a part of her soul is consumed… Can she resist and free the Earth from the White Moon’s grip, or will she lose herself entirely to darkness?
