PGSM is a beautiful show full of intense characterisation, relationships and emotion.

Commission for TheMarauding, who thought Ami and Misty would get along swimmingly (no pun intended). I tend to agree! This was heaps of fun to do.

The fifth episode of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon is the only pop culture example I can think of that illustrates how social interaction can be emotionally and even physically draining for some people. Ami has a sleep-over with Usagi and Naru and literally passes out from exhaustion.
Yet again I relate more to Sailor Moon than to many stories more geared toward my age group.
Re: Ami’s speech about her being “#1 In Nation-Wide Mock Exams” and whether or not it’s revealing her identity:
When I was a kid I thought so too, but while real exams are obviously done under your real name, mock/trial exams in Japan can be taken under a pseudonym. (Probably so that if you take a bunch and you fail all of them you can do so anonymously.) This was brought up in the Ami-chan’s First Love anime special/manga Exam Battle side story, where Ami falls in love with someone who constantly ties with her in these mock exams, who uses the handle ‘Mercurius’. Ami uses the handle ‘Mercury’, so that speech is basically her saying “You know that mysterious ‘Mercury’ who aces all the mock exams?? Well, your suspicions are correct - it is I! Sailor Mercury!”
So while it’s definitely not the smartest move Ami’s ever made it’s not the same as her spelling out her identity.
