what gender do you consider the starlights? there has always been an debate that theyre transgender or you cant identify them as being female. what do you think?
Naoko has stated that they’re women and was pretty upset about the change in the anime, so that’s what I go with, mostly. They’re women 100% of the time in the manga and they’re women a lot of the time in the anime. Out of the three, I’d say there’s the most support for Seiya being trans*, as there are a couple of references made to the idea that they have willingly taken a male form at other times for no reason other than she wanted to. However, I’m hesitant to say that Seiya is trans* because it feels like buying into the anime’s ridiculous and gross “MAKE THEM ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY MALE SO THAT THE USAGI/SEIYA PAIRING IS A HET ONE” which I don’t want to support at all. Like, Seiya’s a woman in the manga who crossdresses for the purpose of disguise. They turn her into a love interest in the anime and suddenly she’s physically male?? No thankyou.
So I refer to them as “she” but I could understand how one would perceive them to be trans*, especially Seiya. I’d say that Seiya is gender fluid and is comfortable in either body where I don’t think Yaten or Taiki were so much.

Today’s theme is, “Search for Your Love.” The inspiration for these three necklaces comes from my very favorite Sailor Moon Series, Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars. I love the three lights and Sailor Starlights. First is Kou Seiya Necklace, second is Kou Yaten Necklace and third is Kou Taiki Necklace.
All items can be found on my Anime Couture Jewelry etsy store. :-)
**My previous post is a part of my “Search for Your Love” theme, I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I do. :-)
