This version is the original music track ripped straight from the game.

On the game’s soundtrack CD, this piece is the “Village of Glacier, Kainess” excerpt of the Searching for Gems track.

How did you get the original game music?! I tried to get that from this one site but couldn’t play the files!

The source page (http://www.fantasyanime.com/animerpgs/pssm.htm) offers the music in the original SPC game sound files, and provides a link to an add-on for Winamp that lets you play them. I then looked and found this explanation - second post - of how to get Winamp to convert files to .wav, which I then converted again to .mp3 using Switch. (It sounds a lot more complicated than it was.)

If you just want to be able to listen to the files, the Winamp plugin itself should to the trick. Winamp is a really handy, light-weight program, so if you don’t have it you might want to consider getting it. :)
